12.9-inch Apple iPad Pro (256GB, 4th Generation) — $1,029, was $1,099
It is very difficult to find a better, more beautiful tablet than the 4th Gen 12.9-inch iPad Pro. If you’re considering stepping laterally away from a laptop, especially a MacBook, this is the iPad with which to do it. The screen is gorgeous with its edge-to-edge Liquid Retina Display, plus there’s a 12Z Bionic chip with Neural Engine, Face ID for security, and support for the Magic Keyboard. And it’s got some gibe advantages over the 3rd Generation iPad, never mind the 2nd. The big move forward for the iPad Pro’s 4the generation, in 2020, was in the cameras, with the addition of a 12-megapixel primary lens, a 10MP ultrawide lens, and a lidar sensor. There were also smaller advancements in performance with a faster chip and more RAM. It’s a whole lot of tablet, but with Apple’s sleek and gorgeous design, all for only $1,029.
11-inch Apple iPad Pro (256GB, 4th Generation) — $846, was $899
Despite our ringing endorsement of the 12.9-inch 4th Gen iPad, there are still plenty of amazing things to say about the 11-inch version. You’re still blessed with an edge-to-edge Liquid Retina display with ProMotion, True Tone, and P3 wide color. This is essentially the exact same tablet, with just 20% less screen. You have the same adaptability for Magic Keyboard and the Apple Pencil and this iPad can just as easily sub in for your laptop going forward. The only way you’ll miss those extra couple inches of screen is if you’re using this iPad for heavily visual work like graphic design or photo editing. Otherwise, you’re just dealing with a slightly smaller, lighter machine, and it’s hundreds less than its bigger brother. This is an ideal travel companion, for work or personal use. And it’s more than $50 off!
