When are the Best Prime Day Kindle deals?

We can count on Amazon repeating the strategies that made Prime Day one of the most significant annual sales events in the country in just a few short years. That means most of the best deals will drop during Prime Day 2020. However, as in the past, Amazon will also build excitement with superlative deals on select name brand products in the week leading up to Prime Day 2020.

If Amazon uses Kindle deals to prime shoppers for the big day, you would be wise to snap them up. So be on the lookout for the Kindle model you want. The teaser deals aren’t guaranteed to be available during Prime Day.  Even with Amazon’s renowned deep inventories, in the past, certain products had sold so many so quickly that stock sold out before the sale ended. On the rare chance that you might snap up an excellent deal just before Prime Day and then see it even cheaper, consider buying the better deal and returning the original.

What Prime Day Kindle deals to expect

There are currently four Kindle e-reader models: Kindle, Kindle Paperwhite, Kindle Oasis, and Kindle Kids Edition. All four are relatively new versions of previous models. Based on sales so far in past events and pricing this year, we expect the Prime Day 2020 prices will be approximately 30% to 33% off the list price. That means, for example, you should be able to look for a base model Kindle for about $60, the Paperwhite at $105 or a bit less, the Oasis near $175, and the latest Kindle Kids Edition for $80.

Those prices seem pretty good, but you may find an even more incredible bargain on 2-packs or bundles with cases and other accessories. It’s also possible Amazon may have inventory remaining from earlier editions of the existing models that the retailer will markdown even more. Amazon identifies older models with year indicators or sometimes the words “previous edition.” If you happen on a deal on an earlier model, the savings can be amazing. Amazon also runs lighting deals and flash sales during sales events with extra discounts for a short time, so it’s always possible you might find a better than even for Prime Day deal, but in those cases, you need to be sure what you’re buying and act fast.

Should I shop on Prime Day or wait until Black Friday?

Prime Day and Black Friday are both set to take place in the fall this year. Though this means we’re in for a great season of savings, there’s a couple of things all shoppers should keep in mind. Amazon products like Kindles might sell out on Prime Day and not see a fresh restock in time for Black Friday or Cyber Monday. Shopping on Black Friday might also result in significant delays because of increased demand so you might not get your goods in time for Christmas. We also expect to see similar discounts on Prime Day and Black Friday, so don’t let that hold you back from shopping these Prime Day Kindle deals early.

Are any Prime Day Kindle deals too good to be true?

A lot of Kindle models will be seeing big discounts come Prime Day. Before you purchase your new e-reader, make sure you know what you’re buying. Do a little bit of research prior to Prime Day to decide which Kindle model is best for you. There are also a lot of Kindle knock-offs out there so make sure you’re buying the right product and don’t let yourself be enticed by the lower price of a knock off. It will only lead to disappointment.

How to choose a Kindle

There are a few models of Amazon’s Kindle on the market worth buying. It all depends on how often you plan to use your e-reader and what features you’re looking for. The Amazon Kindle Oasis is the best Kindle currently available and gives you a luxurious reading experience like no other. It has a large, 7-inch display using 25 integrated LED lights for a more evenly-lit screen — important if you tend to use your e-reader for hours on end. It also automatically adjusts brightness making it easy on the eyes. If you’re looking for an e-reader that most closely mimics a real book, go with the Kindle Oasis.

If you’re looking for a more affordable option with the same high-resolution display and waterproof features as the Oasis but without the hefty price tag, buy the Kindle Paperwhite. This lightweight reader’s clear, touchscreen display and sleek design make it a treat to use. Like the Oasis, you can take this e-reader for a dip in the pool or carry it to your hour-long baths without any issues. It’s not as responsive as the Kindle Oasis but still packs a punch making it a solid e-reader.

The most budget-friendly option on the market, though, has to be the newer Amazon Kindle (2019). It’s only $90 and its light-up display is almost on par with the Paperwhite. This Kindle is a great option for those of you that want an e-reader in addition to buying physical books. Though the resolution is lower than the Paperwhite and it doesn’t have any waterproof abilities, you’ll be perfectly satisfied using this Kindle on a daily basis.

Finally, the Kindle Kids Edition is a great e-reader for your young ones who love reading as much as you do. The display properties are very similar to the Kindle (2019) but there’s the added bonus of no lock screen ads at all. They also come with rugged, fun, colorful cases that your kids will love
