Opera One levels up video watching with a 500% volume booster, improved PiP, and sidebar streaming support

Opera One just dropped an update that makes it a much better browser for video lovers and remote workers alike. The update brings YouTube and Twitch into the sidebar, a native volume booster that cranks audio up to 500%, and a fully revamped Picture-in-Picture mode.

YouTube and Twitch are now in the sidebar

If you like having stream or tutorial running while you work, you know how annoying it is to keep jumping between tabs. Opera One solves that by giving you one-click access to YouTube and Twitch directly from the browser sidebar. You can pin the panel for a side-by-side view or pop the video out into a floating overlay that you can drag anywhere on screen.

A volume booster that cranks up to 500%

We’ve all been there. You find a great old tutorial or lecture, and the audio is so quiet you have to press your ear to the speaker. Most people turn to third-party volume-boosting extensions, but those come with their own problems, including even some security warnings.

Opera One is the first major browser to build a native volume booster and it goes all the way up to 500%. Better yet, you get per-tab control. So you can keep background music low while boosting that quiet video in another tab to the max.

Better picture-in-picture for remote work

The Video Popout feature has also been completely overhauled. It now supports any video conferencing app that works with PiP, including Zoom. You also get per-site control over Auto-PiP permissions instead of a global toggle, and the floating window now matches your Opera One theme.

If you spend a lot of time juggling video calls and browser tabs, this update is worth a look.
