Samsung has announced the finalized launch details for the Galaxy Book Flex2 5G 2-in-1 Windows laptop. It comes complete with Intel Evo certification, which means alongside the 11th-generation Intel Core processor, it has Iris XE integrated graphics, instant wake, and improved battery efficiency. You may have seen a laptop similar to it already, and that’s because Samsung previously announced the laptop simply as the Galaxy Book Flex 5G, but didn’t talk about release or pricing at the time. The confusing name change comes with the Galaxy Book Flex2 5G’s release in the U.K.

It’s an important model for Samsung, as it’s the company’s first 5G laptop, giving you the chance to connect to the fastest mobile signal possible, provided you’re in an area with coverage, and have the relevant plan from your carrier. However, it’ll be a Sub-6 5G connection only, and will not connect to an mmWave signal. The laptop has a Thunderbolt 4 port, a USB Type-C port, and a USB 3.0 port, plus there’s also Wi-Fi 6 onboard, Wi-Fi Direct, and Bluetooth 5.1, rounding out the impressive array of connectivity options.

There’s a choice of either the 11th-generation Intel Core i7 or Core i5 processor, both with Intel Iris XE graphics, plus up to 512GB SSD storage, and 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM. The QLED screen measures 13.3 inches with a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, plus there’s a 13-megapixel “world-facing” camera to take photos with, and a 720p video call camera, too. The keyboard is backlit, there are two AKG-tuned speakers, a MicroSD card slot, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a SIM card slot on the chassis as well.

The 1.26kg, 14.9mm thick laptop also comes with an S Pen stylus, which hides away in a dedicated slot on the chassis for safekeeping, much like it does on the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra smartphone. It enables features including Voice Note, which syncs written and audio notes together, and the full Samsung Notes experience, which syncs notes across other connected Samsung devices.

The Galaxy Book Flex2 5G will be available for pre-order in the U.K. from January 14, ready for official release on February 12. The Intel Core i5 version will cost 1,649 British pounds, which is about $2,250, or 1,849 pounds for the Core i7 model, which converts over to $2,520. Details on the Galaxy Book Flex2 5G’s wider release in the U.S. and around the world have not been shared yet.
